Frequently Asked Questions
Empowering Calgary to pursue prosperity by remaining a part of Canada, with or without the rest of Alberta, through education, policy advocacy, and public mobilization.
About Our Organization
Overview
The Calgary Prosperity Project is an educational initiative focused on garnering support for a future where Calgary remains a part of Canada, even if the rest of Alberta votes to separate. This will ensure prosperity and freedom for future generations of Calgarians. We believe in a Federal Calgary Within a Separated Alberta.
What does Calgarian federalism mean?
Calgarian federalism is NOT a “Right” or “Left” issue. All Calgarians will benefit, regardless of one’s political leanings.
Calgary federalism pragmatically means a continued political, economic, and cultural relationship with the Canadian federal government as a city, even if the Province of Alberta votes to separate from Canada. This also means that Calgary will maintain continued relationships with the UK, Europe, China, the WEF and the WHO, via the Canadian federal government.
Is the Calgary Prosperity Project associated with the Alberta Prosperity Project?
Is the Calgary Prosperity Project a parody?
No. The two groups are in no way associated.
Yes.
The Referendum
Is having a municipal referendum on unity with Canada even possible?
If Danielle Smith and the Alberta Prosperity Project can find a way to slither around the courts to get their destabilizing question on the ballot, then so can we. We have a will for Calgarians to vote on remaining in Canada, so we will find a way.
When will Calgary become reunited with the Canadian federation under a Separated Alberta?
Fall 2026: Alberta conducts a dishonest and confusing referendum on independence with 10 convoluted questions that circumnavigates Indigenous treaties and the Canadian courts. According to the Clarity Act 2000, a successful referendum is required to legally and morally launch negotiations between Alberta and Ottawa.
Winter 2026 – Winter 2027: After an overwhelming majority of Albertans vote for independence because they are confused about the ballot question, Alberta enters into negotiations with Canada, the provinces, and Indigenous peoples regarding separation and the details surrounding it. While negotiations are taking place, Calgarians vote on staying within Canada while Alberta separates.
2028 – Beyond: After an overwhelming majority of Calgarians vote to stay within Canada, Calgary enters into negotiations with Alberta, Canada, the provinces, and Indigenous peoples regarding un-separating and the details surrounding it. Calgary negotiates exits from the Alberta Revenue Agency, Alberta Police Force, and Alberta Pension Fund. If negotiations are successful, a Constitutional amendment will occur and Calgary will be declared re-federated within a separated Alberta.
Do you have a constitution for a Federal Calgary within a Separated Alberta? What is in it?
The CPP, with the help of Chat GPT and no other experts, is currently drafting a proposed constitution for a Federal Calgary within a Separated Alberta. The current draft is being continually refined through artificial intelligence hallucinations to make it the best document possible. Stay tuned!
